The Steps to Setup a Custom Blog Post Layout

First off, you’ll need to purchase and download the latest version of Divi Theme.

Checkout our Divi discounts page to see if you can get 10-20% off the price of Divi at your time of purchase.

Make sure you upload and active Divi as well.

  1. Now, just hover on Divi and click theme builder.
  2. You’ll want to click Add New Template
  3. Next, add a custom body
  4. Now click on the green plus icon to create a new section
  5. Start your new section with a background color, gradient or image which will become your blog post header area
  6. Use padding to space the the header more up and down
  7. Now, add a text module and setup your dynamic content by clicking on the three pancakes with the plus icon
  8. You can style your title in the Design tab just like you would any blog header
  9. Now, give yourself some dynamic blog content through the Blog Content module
  10. You can move the blog content up or down using margin padding
  11. Next, add an image above the blog post area and use dynamic content again to setup your blog post featured images which will be pulled in based on what featured image you insert in your blog post editor inside the WordPress dashboard.
  12. Ok, blog posts are good now! Let’s move to the sidebar
  13. Add a blurb to setup your author photo and bio
  14. Make sure to insert some social icons and setup links to all your social sites where you’d like to direct or boast your fans
  15. You can style the sidebars with as many custom images or banners as your heart desires
  16. Next, head below your blog posts and add a previous/next blog post link
  17. You can also add a comments section and style that with backgrounds, fonts, etc
